FEEL LIKE THIS?
Illustrator (2023)
RIT Graphic Design 2 final project. A poster on an issue of our choice. I chose to illustrate the mental health issue of dissociation.

The colors I chose for this project were intentional in relation to the emotion behind them. I aimed at making a contrast between the scary emotion and the comfort of knowing other people feel the same, and you can get help. I chose the red to show the intensity of the emotion, and the calmer green color background to show the comfort.
The audience for this piece was also an important aspect to the design, as always. My audience was people who recognize the feeling of the poster, and possibly relate to it. I want people to be able to identify this feeling in themselves, learn about it, and learn about ways to get help.

The biggest challenge for me in this project was illustrating such a strong emotion. I aimed to style it in a more abstract minimalistic illustration to focus more on emotion and less on the details.
In this project, I was also tasked with finding an organization to "sponsor" the poster. Someone who works with issues similar to the one I chose. I decided on "Mind" because they work with many different mental health issues.
