Corn Madness
Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom (2024)
RIT Typography 2 Project. Editorial concept for a Psychology Today article on the dangers of having a corn-based diet.

Looking through various articles I aimed to find one that I could explore photography and photoshopping to design something that was different from our usual illustration projects. I wrote down the main points and a few thumbnail sketches for some articles but none of them were really standing out to me and were articles that I could have many ideas for. Eventually, I came across How a Corn-Based Diet Led to Mental Illness. This headline immediately stuck out to me and as I was reading it I had a bunch of fun ideas I could mix photography and photoshop collage.
Similar to my Feel Like This? posters from last semester, I enjoy the challenge of trying to illustrate emotions. This time the emotion I had to illustrate was madness, in combination with corn and diet. With the help of a friend's nice camera, I photographed my dad, a pile of corn, and a plastic spoon. I took these into Lightroom and Photoshop to adjust the lighting and effects. I compiled everything together in InDesign.
